1. Plan your college academic curriculum.
2. Participate in extracurricular and volunteer activities - both in the medical field and outside of the medical field.
3. Research the requirements and deadlines for each medical school application.
4. Request letters of recommendation from professors/advisors/teachers who can speak to your talents, skills, and enthusiasm.
5. Apply and prepare for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).
6. Take the MCAT no latter than the year in which you apply to medical school.
7. Send in your medical school application, including transcripts, MCAT scores, activities, letters of recommendation, and essay(s) as required.
8. Prepare for the medical school interview.
9. Keep track of deadlines.
10. Contact the office of financial aid (college and/or medical school) for information about financing your studies.
